Budapest? More like Foodapest, Hungary’s capital is a haven of seductively succulent street food. But with so much choice, it can be hard to know where to start. On our Budapest Food Tour, you’ll join a local guide and a group of fellow food-lovers to eat your way through the city and try authentic Hungarian street food and traditional dishes. Explore Budapest bite by bite with priority service at four eateries and a curated menu that showcases the best of local cuisine

Since much of Hungarian cuisine is influenced by Jewish culture, we’ll meet at an old synagogue. Here you’ll learn a bit about the history of the food you’re going to try before heading into District 7, a former Jewish neighbourhood turned nightlife hub. Our route will show you two sides of Budapest: gritty and glamorous.

Eat like a local by sampling street food such as traditional soup and Lángos, a deep-fried flatbread. After soaking up the bohemian ambience, we’ll get fancy at atmospheric eateries for a sit-down meal. Here you’ll try chicken paprikash, a Hungarian comfort food with braised chicken and paprika and a shot of pálinka.

Of course, no food tour is complete without a sweet treat, so we'll finish the tour with dessert wine from Tokaji, Hungary’s famed wine region, and somlói, a trifle cake with custard.

Hung[a]ry for adventure? Our Budapest Food Tour has all of the necessary ingredients for a good time: food, culture, company, and a few drinks. What more could you ask for? Experience Budapest’s history and culture through its cuisine and make new friends along the way. Book now!

Kazinczy Street Synagogue

Much of Hungarian cuisine has deep roots in Jewish culture and tradition, telling the resilient history of their people. To better understand the influence that the Jewish community had on the food culture in Budapest, our tour will begin at a synagogue with a brief introduction from an expert guide.

Jewish Quarter, Centre of 7th district, Budapest Hungary

Together we’ll wander the streets of District 7, the city’s former Jewish quarter. Nowadays the neighbourhood is renowned for its vibrant nightlife and iconic ruin bars. These bars and restaurants might be trendy on social media, but they carry with them a fascinating story connected to the plight of the Jewish community.Your expert guide will tell you about this history and how it relates to Hungarian cuisine before you try authentic street food. Leave your knives and forks at home, because all you’ll need is an open mind!

Andrassy Avenue, Budapest, Hungary

After experiencing the less polished part of the city, it’s time to explore the other side of Budapest—one with a bit more glamour and style. Your guide will lead you down the city’s most expensive streets where you’ll head to atmospheric eateries to try traditional Hungarian dishes.

Sweet Finish

We’ll finish off the tour with a sweet treat before you continue the night with your newfound friends!
